Under Article 5 of European Regulation 2016/679, the collection and processing of personal data on the site’s visitors complies with the following principles:

Personal data collected by LEXMIND is as follows:
- Data that identifies you (surname, first names, title, marital status, nationality, email address, date of birth, domicile, company, employer, department, role, position, phone and fax number, work and/or private address, identity card, national ID number, VAT number)
- Your bank details (credit card information, IBAN and BIC/SWIFT) as well as details for invoicing
- Your personal preferences (your preferred language, interests, memberships, area of work, etc)
- Correspondence that passes between us (by email or otherwise)
- When you visit our site, your IP address, the date and time of your visit, your location data, the pages on our site that you visited, your browser type, the platform or operating system that you use, the search engine and keywords you used to find our site, your navigation preferences
- Information collected in the context of cases. This information can include personal data relating to other individuals. In our capacity as avocats we are subject to professional confidentiality rules, which means that LEXMIND is exempt from the requirement to inform data subjects about the processing of their data.
- All other data that you communicate to us.
Further, when a payment is made on the site, evidence of the transaction will be kept in our IT systems, in the form of the purchase order and the invoice.
Your data will be retained for 5 years from the date of the last lawyer-client communication.
The data that we collect is used for these purposes:
- Providing legal services as instructed by you.
- Complying with legal obligations, especially for the fight against money laundering.
- Keeping you informed of the latest legal news that affects your work, via our newsletters and invitations to our seminars; keeping our database up to date; and using the information you have given us to understand you better and improve the way we offer our services and our mailshots.

LEXMIND does not generally share your personal data with anybody, but in some specific cases, LEXMIND may share it, for example:
- In the context of the provision of our legal services, with official authorities, avocats, experts, judicial officers, notaries, etc, in Belgium or abroad, in accordance with the client’s instructions.
- As part of our internal operations, with the associates, partners and employees of LEXMIND with whom we work as a team to carry out the legal assignment you have entrusted to us.
- When it is useful or necessary, with sub-contractors who carry out data processing tasks for us, such as arranging mailshots or event campaigns; or with suppliers of IT, hosting or communication services.

For technical reasons, LEXMIND may share data with the following service providers: BLUEHOST (our webhosts); VCITA (who provide customer communication and appointment management solutions); LIVECHAT (online chat solutions); GOOGLE Analytics (site traffic monitoring); COOKIEBOT (cookie management), STRIPE and PAYPAL (online payment solutions). When this happens, data sharing is limited to the information necessary for the service we get from one of these providers.
Your personal data is kept within the European Union. We do not transfer your data to countries that are not European Union members unless that country provides a level of protection equivalent to that which you enjoy in your home country.
